New Israeli Heron Drones to be deployed in Ladakh

In News

The Indian forces are shortly going to receive their modern Heron drones from Israel for keeping track on the Chinese activities in the Ladakh sector and other areas along the Line of Actual Control with China.

About

The Indian forces are set to get a major raise to their surveillance capabilities as they are soon going to receive state-of-art Israeli drones for security of the Ladakh region. Indian forces will receive four drones that will be deployed in the Eastern Ladakh and other sectors along the LAC government.

The drones are more advanced than the Herons in the existing inventory and their anti-jamming ability is much better than their earlier versions.

The accession of these drones had been done under the emergency financial powers accorded by Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government to the defence forces under which they can buy equipment and systems worth Rs 500 crores to ameliorate their warfighting capabilities, during ongoing border conflict with China.
